It had been a week, and I was still berating myself for letting that reporter get under my skin. The American press could be harsh, but the UK press was downright ruthless. One day they were singing your praises and the next, you were the garbage they threw away. Luckily, I had managed to dodge most of their attacks by simply ignoring them.

Ms. Ellis, Big Iz, and my publicist, Amara Dike, blew up my phone to give me a piece of their minds. However, at the end of the day, they worked for me, and it was their job to clean up after whatever mess they thought I made. I respected them as individuals and how they handled my business, but they weren’t the ones who had to deal with these endless attacks. I’d already served my punishment for my actions, but these people just wouldn’t let it go. They could write whatever they wanted about me, but in person, they better tread lightly.

I leaned closer to the mirror to inspect every inch of my face to make sure I was well moisturized. Okay with my reflection, I headed back into my bedroom just as a text from my sister popped up on my phone.
